“Stel je voor, je wordt wakker met de geur van versgebakken brood en stilte die alleen doorbroken wordt door het geluid van vogels. In het Franse heuvellandschap, dichtbij de belgische grens, ligt het pittoreske dorpje Le Coq Banni. Hier vind je “la Milonga”, in een sfeervol landhuis omringd door een prachtige tuin met hangmatten en zithoeken, vanwaar je direct het bos inloopt. In “la Milonga” glijden de dagen aan je voorbij midden in de natuur. Bruisend van tango (of een glas champagne uit de nabijgelegen Champagnestreek!) geniet je elke dag van onovertroffen eten, letterlijk b(o)ordevol liefde van Fons en Marianne”

“Our ideas for the 2012 summerweek:
One big issue we work on will be MUSICALITY:
We want to refine our listening and the attention to the music we dance to. We will make use of the lyrics (copies with english translation will be handed out), get detailed knowledge about the structure of tangos in general and about single orchestras (typical features of the sound of Biagi, Di Sarli etc.) and singers. This will be accompanied by video material and a lot of fascinating stories we found about "how it was at those times ...".
The DANCE aspect: We will focus on renewing classical milonguero choreographics, again supported by extensive video material coming from the milongas of Buenos Aires - "what are they really dancing over there?" You will also have the pleasure that we are gonna teach some steps we never taught before. In general we always look for the right blend of what is authentic, gives a good feeling and is creative.
Another topic will be the COUPLE in tango: We like you to feel comfortable and fulfilled when you dance. When we dance we give companionship to each other. We do this in such a way where we are sensitive for our partner without loosing presence. One expresses the music from his unique personality and we sense our partner doing the same. In our classes you will learn that the leading of the man is clear and suggestive and the dancing of the lady is actively responsive. Men learn in general that they can do less and experience more, and women learn to be more active and feel more! Its a winwin situation ;-)
